Philamor Highland Bagpiping
Hi, Andi MacInnes here. I have been learning the pipes since 1979. I am currently Pipe Major of the Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force Pipes & Drums, based in Glenrothes, still learning all the time. Click on the Pipes & Drums link to see more on that.
This web site will allow you to read my slant on bagpiping, hire a piper and visit a few links that I feel are useful, if you wish, from the menu on the left.
Tuition is, for me, not a necessary chore, but the reward for the many years already given to the instrument, being able to pass my knowledge on to the many of you out there with ambitions to perfect this unique instrument. I am currently looking for more work in bagpipe tuition, so if you know someone or group/ school looking for a tutor, please pass on my details to get in touch and I will be pleased to discuss their requirements.
Hire a Piper
Today, more and more there is a demand for a piper to play at special functions, which are ranging from family BBQ's to the traditional wedding and all points in between. My repertoire for this side of bagpiping is varied and can be put to good use for such as piping the bride into church and out with bridegroom, to a few short performances at a BBQ or wedding reception, as well as piping guests of honour into birthday lunches, etc., the list is almost endless. as long as the organiser of the event requires the duties of a piper. I have also been involved with writing specially commissioned tunes.
